Fall family photos are one of my favorite things to photograph every year. There is something so sweet about this season, the golden light, the cozy outfits, the changing colors, and the reminder that our families are always growing and changing.

If you have been hoping to update your family photos before the holiday season, my 2026 fall mini sessions are now booking. These sessions are designed to be simple, sweet, and intentional, especially for busy families who want beautiful updated photos without planning a full session.

Whether you are looking for playful cow minis, classic golden fall portraits, a morning session for little ones, or a whimsical garden-inspired setup, there is a fall mini session option for you.

Sacramento Fall Mini Sessions Are Now Booking

Fall mini sessions are shorter sessions created for families who want updated portraits in a simple and guided way. They are perfect for holiday cards, yearly family photos, milestone updates, or simply freezing this season of life before it changes again.

My fall calendar is intentionally limited this year. I am focusing on mini sessions through the busy fall and holiday season, with limited full session availability through October and no regular sessions in December. If you have been hoping to get on my calendar before the end of the year, fall minis are the best way to make that happen.

2026 Fall Mini Session Options

This year’s fall mini session lineup includes a few different options, each with its own feel. Some are playful and full of personality, while others are more classic, cozy, and timeless.

Below is a simple breakdown to help you choose the best fit for your family.

These are perfect for families who want something fun, unique, and full of personality. If your kids love animals, this is such a memorable way to document your family this season. I will guide you through the session so we can capture a mix of sweet smiles, snuggles, and those candid little moments that make cow minis so special.

Which Fall Mini Session Is Best for Your Family?

If you are not sure which session to choose, here is a simple way to think about it.

Choose Fall Cow Minis if you want something playful, memorable, and unique.

Choose Golden Oak Sessions if you want classic fall family photos with warm light and timeless scenery.

Choose Morning at the Duck Pond if you have little ones who do best earlier in the day or you want something relaxed and simple.

Choose Fall Storybook Garden Minis if you love a more whimsical, cozy, styled fall setup.

No matter which session you choose, I will guide your family through the whole thing. You do not need to know what to do in front of the camera. I will help with posing, movement, prompts, and all the little in-between moments that make your gallery feel like you.

What to Wear for Fall Family Photos

For fall family photos, I always recommend choosing outfits that feel cozy, comfortable, and coordinated without being too perfectly matched.

Some of my favorite colors and textures for fall sessions are:

cream, denim, olive, sage, tan, brown, dusty pink, rust, soft florals, knits, boots, overalls, cardigans, and simple dresses.

For cow minis, denim and boots are always a fun choice. For golden oak sessions, soft neutrals and warm earth tones photograph beautifully. For duck pond sessions, comfortable outfits for little ones are key since we want them to feel relaxed and playful.

The most important thing is that your family feels like yourselves. The outfits should support the photos, not steal the whole show.

When Should You Book Fall Mini Sessions?

Fall mini sessions are best booked early because seasonal dates are limited and my calendar fills differently during this time of year.

If you want photos for holiday cards, gifts, or end-of-year updates, booking in advance gives you the most options for dates, locations, and session style.

My fall mini sessions are open now, and holiday mini sessions will be launching soon. If you know you want photos before the end of the year, this is your reminder to choose your date early.
